New Aging in Place Designer

Swags is pleased to announce that we have added a certified Aging in Place designer to our staff.

Our evaluations will help you create a design enviroment that provides you with a more comfortable, funtional and safe home. We incorporate the principals of Universal Design, taking in to consideration your preferences and lifestyle. We offer a two-hour evaluation, a list of recommendations, and contractors who are qualified to make the recommended changes.

Kingwood College Career Fair 2008

Kingwood College’s Annual Career Fair held in April 2008 was a great success and attended by many students and design professionals. Design firms had the opportunity to meet with many talented students (and prospective employees or interns) in the design field.


Interior Design Classes

Marion O’Brien not only maintains a seat on the Advisory Board for the Kingwood College of Interior Design Program, but also serves as a guest lecturer each semester on various topics, such as color, texture, and much more. Please Contact Swags for more information on upcoming classes.

Winner of the 2004 Woman of Achievement Award

For her business practices, reputation and community activity, Swags owner, Marion O'Brien, has been recognized as the 2004 Woman of Achievement for Business by Family Time.

Winner of the 2003 Humble City Annual Chili Cookoff

First-place winner at the 2003 Humble City Annual Chili Cookoff (proceeds were divided between the Boy Scout Troops and Senior Center in Humble).

Swags is committed to giving back to the community. See below for examples of contributions to the community:

  • Sponsor of the Civil Air Patrol.
  • Sponsor at the Spring Marketplace Fashion Show in March 2004.
  • Swags also contributed three stunning table centerpieces for a silent auction. This event raised $8000 for a local children's hospital.
  • Sponsor and volunteer for the Humble Lions Charity since 1991, a community-focused organization whose goal is to improve the quality of life for the handicapped. the Humble Noon Lions Club provides free eye exams and eyeglasses for children with need in HumbleISD.
  • Committee Publicity Chair Member for Humble City Chili Cookoff  since 2003. This year's event was held October 21st and raised over $8000, proceeds divided between the Humble Noon Lions's charities and the local Boy Scout Troops. 
  • Table Sponsor for Project Care 2006, which helps provide Christmas gifts, food, and clothing  to patients of LBJ Hospital.
